What do you mean when you say: “I am an inclusive photographer”?

As a photographer, I am all about connecting with humankind. I want people to smile and let loose and share their authentic selves with me. Love is love and family is family. I welcome all walks of life to step in front of my lens, freely, and authentically themselves. back to top

I am so nervous in front of a camera, how can you ensure that I will look good?

First off, this is completely normal! I too am nervous when a camera is on me.

The best piece of advice is to forget about the mechanism (ahem, camera) between us. Focus on the fun, laughter and excitement being with your loved ones and the natural beauty you have will shine. back to top

Can you help me find photography locations?

Yes! We can talk more about the feeling you want in the photos and what you want to convey, then we can discuss a variety of locations in the Milwaukee Metro area. However, if you have an out of town shoot, let me reach out to my photography network and see what we can come up with! I love finding new and unique photo locations that are true to you! back to top

Help! I am stuck! I have a question about wedding planning, what do I do?

I’ve been doing this gig for a while. No doubt I’ve picked up some tricks by now. You need tips on what to look for in a photographer, or a cake artist referral? Just dial up me, your “Lindsaypedia.”

Seriously though, no question is a dumb question with me. You’ve probably never planned something at this scale, let alone a wedding! Please, ask away. back to top

How did you come up with “Your Family Historian”?

My photography slogan "Your Family Historian" was created during a conversation with a family I had been documenting for nine years. It dawned on me, and stuck! back to top

How do we book?

Drop me an inquiry HERE. We will find a date that works for everyone.

  • For weddings: I ask for payment very differently than other photographers. I ask for a ⅓ of your package or $1000 retainer to hold your date. You can then make payments when you wish as long as ⅔ is paid prior to your day. The final ⅓ is due when your photos are completed, prior to download being released.

  • For families and lifestyle: If your session is more than 30 days out, I ask for 50% to save the date, and your remaining balance is due when the photos are completed prior to download. If your session is within 30 days, I ask for payment in full as a retainer for your scheduled date. back to top

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes! But I strongly prefer cash or checks. back to top

What is your photography pricing?

My pricing can vary depending on your needs. However a good baseline is as follows:

Wedding photography begins at $2,990

Family photography begins at $285

How will we receive our images?

At the start of our conversation I will provide you a timeframe in which your photos will be completed. An email will arrive with private, online gallery access. back to top

How long will it take to get my photos back?

  • For weddings: You will receive a sneak peak in 72 hours or less. It usually takes me about 4-10 weeks to finish editing a full wedding. Each of my wedding collections has a different deadline pending your package.

  • For families and lifestyle: I usually send a sneak peak within 48 hours. It then takes me about two to three weeks to finish them. back to top

How many photos do we get?

  • For weddings: This depends on your coverage. It can range from 300 (2 hour elopement) to 2000 (full wedding coverage). On average it is between 600 and 1000 final edited photos.

  • For families and lifestyle: This too depends on how much time we spend together. I deliver no less than 15 images per session. back to top

Can I post the photos on social media?

It is extremely flattering when people post their favorite photos. I simply ask that you tag me and make sure to give me photo credit and include a link back to my photography page on whatever platform you use. And please don’t apply any filters to alter them. back to top

Can I print the photos on my own?

Yes! Every single one of my photo packages includes a digital download of images, so if you really want to order prints yourself, you can! Hooray!

That being said, I do want to provide some advice. All photography printers are not created equal. Many places will print with strange colors, shadows or too much contrast. Because of this, I always recommend that you order prints through my page if you want to make sure they come out as intended. I send everyone an online gallery with their images, where you can order prints. back to top

Do you travel?

Yes! I have been fortunate enough to take wedding photography in the following locations: Extensively around Milwaukee and Wisconsin, Minnesota, Chicago, Michigan, California, Seattle, Washington, New York, Jamaica, and Scotland.

I am also more than thrilled to do family photos in a location of your choice. back to top

Are you insured?

Yes, my gear and liability insurance are all covered. back to top

Do you have backup cameras?

Yes! I always carry two camera bodies in case one of them unexpectedly stops working. back to top

Do you work with Second Photographers?

Some of my packages include seconds, while others don’t. I shoot about 50% of my weddings solo. Overall, it is truly up to you after we speak if you wish to have a second photographer. I am more than happy to talk you through the benefits of having a second photographer and why you might not need one for your day.

I am fully confident that I can photograph a wedding solo and capture everything you need. For larger all day coverage, I do suggest having a second photographer. However, for intimate or smaller guest size weddings, I am fully excited to capture it on my own. Never fear, I am here to help you make the right decision for your coverage needs. back to top

Do you know off-camera flash?

Yes! Although I love taking photos outdoors, I do understand the need for indoor photography in dark wedding venues or studios. I have been photographing for over 10 years and have really mastered my style of indoor, nighttime, and sunset photography. back to top
