WEDDING DAY WEATHER: YOU CAN'T PREDICT, BUT YOU CAN PREPARE!

When you first decide on your wedding day plans, think about your ideal weather. Do you dream of a winter wonderland, fall colors, or a beautiful sunny day? Of course each person has their dream and vision.

However, there are other factors like venue and vendor availability as well.

Whatever day you decide, know that weather is the one thing you cannot control.

Key thoughts when planning for weddings:

1. Once you decided on your day, and you begin planning, have a plan A, B and C. This will help ease your mind about the day that lies ahead.

2. Check out my 12 Month Wedding Planning Blog post to help with your plans!

3. If your wedding is outside, call and book a tent company as soon as you book a venue. Typically they allow a cancellation about 2 weeks prior to your day. However, be sure to check your contract before signing.

4. Plan floor plans for each plan, so there is no stress deciding where things are the day of.

5. Talk with your venue on their ideas of what has worked in all weather situations.

6. Trust your photographer to get some excellent shots in any weather.

7. Call around to see where you can do indoor photos and outdoor photos incase of weather.

8. Bring umbrellas no matter what the weather prediction is. You never know when the weather will change

9. Regarding umbrellas, clear are best! They allow the most light in and don’t cast colorful shadows when you are under them.

10. Bring back up shoes, if the weather turns, and your feet are soaked, you have options!

Finally, embrace whatever weather comes your way. It is truly the ONLY thing you cannot control on your wedding day. Laugh about it and go with the flow. Your vendors will be there to support you and still make your day one for the history books!

BONUS TIP: Typically, if the weather breaks around sunset time, you can get the MOST AMAZING sunsets on your day. Now thats what I call a look on the bright side!
